If you crave live bands, cold brews, new swags, and award-winning chili, We Want YOU!! This fun-filled event is FREE to all energetic volunteers that sign up to help make this 27th Annual Hanover Chili Cook Off a success! All we ask of you is your time, talent and a smile. It is just that easy! This state chili cook off is on Labor Day, Sunday, September 3, 2023. Volunteer hours are from 9:30 to 5:30pm – you will not have to wake up early or stay late to help support many local, non-profit organizations. As a “Thank You” for working this full event, you will receive:
-FREE Volunteer t-shirt, -FREE Fancy tin chili cup, -FREE Water & Soda, -FREE Onsite Parking
-2 FREE adult beverage tickets (21 or older), -FREE Invite to “Volunteer Only” after-hour event (5:00 to 6:00pm)
Breaks will be given throughout the day, as needed, and you will receive a 30-minute lunch. We believe in taking care of those who take care of us. This is one fundraiser you don’t want to miss!
We understand some of you can’t work the full event, as stated above, so we have created limited spots available for shortened shifts. The morning shift would be 9:30 to 2:00pm and the afternoon shift would be 1:00 to 5:30pm.
Available Positions (training will be provided prior to start of shift):
Ticket sales – Sells tickets at gates
ID Checkers (RAMP Training needed) – Check IDs
ID Banders – Band members over 21 years old
Parking Guides for General Admission, VIP/Handicap & Performers
Roamers – Walk field, check on volunteers, and help patrons
Judge’s Tent – Get supplies and assist as needed
Beer Ticket Sale’s Tent (RAMP Training needed)
Beer Truck Pourers – Must be at least 21 years old (RAMP Training needed)
Merchandise Tent – Sells merchandise
Kids Area – Monitor activities, ensure parent/adult is with child
Positions will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis until full. If you have no preference, please let us know and we will place you where we need the most help.
All positions requiring “RAMP training” must become Ramp Certified. RAMP is a Responsible Alcohol
Management Program. This is an online training that takes about 90 minutes. If interested, please let us know. We will send you a link and a code to take the course. This is free of charge to our volunteers. Please complete your training by August 25, 2023. Once you pass your test, please send your RAMP certification to cookoffvolunteer@yahoo.com. This certification will last for two years.
